The 1st International Biennale of Contemporary Art in Rabat attracts more than 51,000 visitors

Since the opening on September 24, the Rabat International Biennial has welcomed more than 51,000 visitors. This first edition will run until December 18th.

The 1st International Biennial of Rabat was deemed successful. It has recorded more than 51,000 visits since it opened on September 24th. An event that appeals to the international media such as El Pais, Le Monde, RFI, ZDF ZDF, Le Point, Italian edition “Elle magazine”, as the National Foundation of Museums pointed out in a statement. They also stated that, through this affluence, the Biennale confirms the place of Rabat as City of Light, and Cultural Capital of the Kingdom.

The International Biennial of Rabat brings together an international component with the works of 63 artists and artists’ collectives from 27 different countries, three white cards dedicated to contemporary art, a cinema chapter as well as literature, and a focus on urban art.
 A magnificent artistic panorama is to be found in different places of the capital, namely the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the Museum of History and Civilizations, the Oudayas Museum, Fort Rottembourg, the CDG expression space, the Villa des Arts, the agricultural credit art gallery, the People’s Bank art gallery, the Kingdom’s national library, the Mohammed V theater and the Hassan II Park.
