Written by FDM

The young Belgian-Moroccan Ines Lamallem received on Thursday the Brabant Wallon Young Audience Prize from the Laure Nobels Foundation, for her first novel “Santana”.

A senior year student, she considers the release of her book and the award as a childhood dream that she realized. “I had a dream of releasing t a book, but I never imagined it was going to happen very soon,” she said.

In this novel, Ines Lamallem subtly addresses the issue of violence among adolescents, in its physical and moral aspects. It all starts with the story of a meeting, through which a young high school student undergoes these treatments from a classmate, feared by everyone in her school.

Ines Lamallem’s love for literature and writing prompted her to become a writer. In the future, she aims to become a French language teacher.
