They were 350 young women to dream about taking part in the beauty contest Miss Arab World, organized on December 16 in Cairo. Only 18 were left, during the finale held on November 21 and 22 in Ouarzazate, who came from Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, Fez, Ouarzazate, Oujda, Kenitra, Tetuan, Beni-Mellal, Khenifra, Tafraut and Nador, besides the three MRE candidates living in Belgium, France and Spain.
Finally, the crown was granted to Sherin Hosni, a 23-year-old student from Tafraout, who was ultimately selected by the jury composed of the Egyptian founder of the competition, Hanane Nasr, Moroccan singer Abdelali El Ghaoui, Moroccan singer Nezha Chaabaoui, Moroccan actress Amal Benzakour, and the representative of culture in Egyptian Embassy of Italy.
Candidates had certain criteria to meet such as the mastery of foreign languages, communication skills, the cultural level, beauty, know-how, but also good manners. Oumeyma Ouafar was the runner up and Salma Ziyati ranked 3rd.
