#Hipdips are the latest trend in body positivity

A new hashtag pro body positivism sweeps over the internet: the #hipdips. It is this famous inward curve below the hips and above the thighs that has a good number of women struggling with their body image.

Let the campaigns continue for spreading body positivism. After the famous #Theysaid hashtag that denounces body shaming comments, a specific part of the body gained interest in the latest pro body positivism hashtag.

Taking to Instagram, women have been paying tribute to the common feature, also known as violin hips, using the hashtag #hipdips. Users have been posting about how they came to accept their hips using the hashtag, proudly sharing images of their own “hip dips” in tight clothing to show off the feature.

Some also highlighted the fact that dieting or sports are useless against hip dips because they depend on the shape of our bones. Therefore, the only solution is to appreciate them, as young women point out on internet.

And their messages can get quite inspiring.

‼️ HOLD UP let's talk about hip dips for a minute 🤔🤔 As you can see from this picture and many of my other pictures I have preeeeeetty large 'hip dips'.. This is where my leg/hip area comes in just before my quad starts.. I thought these lil dips were unique to me until I read the gorgeous @sjamesfit this morning all about how they're actually a huge insecurity to loads of women!! I then went on to google hip dips and read all about how they're seen as a bad thing for women and some people even go as far as to have fat injected into them to smooth them out 😱😱😱😱 WELL I sure as hell wasn't about to add another thing onto my insecurity list 😂✋🏼✋🏼✋🏼 If anyone else has these cute ass hip dips then you should rock them.. For 20 years I've picked at areas of my body I hate but not once did I pick up on these! A few years ago I would have read that article and suddenly felt insecure and wanted to change them. Now I don't give a poo what other people think looks good on women or not. I think they're cool. 😎 😂 And yes growing my quads 17483 times bigger has probably made the hip dips even more prominent but quads are cool too. Conclusion: I'm cool. You're cool. Everyone's cool. So…heres the thing….I’ve had a lot of issues around my body, and because I’m not large, I’ve always been dismissed, as if my struggles aren’t real because they aren’t the same struggles as others. I used to workout because I wanted to look better. I hated that I had #hipdips or saddlebags as the older generation called them, and that I had cellulite on my rear end. I now absolutely LOVE how strong my body is, even when my stomach isn’t flat and I have a double bum. I LOVE how I actually grew 2 entire human beings and they are turning into little actual people, who will be real adults later. From my vagina. That’s what I did. I LOVE that I’m strong enough to pickup my husband and piggy back him around the house. I LOVE MY HIPDIPS AND MY CELLULITE AND MY FRECKLES AND MY WRINKLES AND SAGGY MOM TUMMY AND MY CROOKED TEETH AND MY « PROBLEM SKIN ». I love everything that I used to hate. LET'S TALK HIP DIPS 🎻 For those of you that don't know, hip dips, or violin hips, are a particular shape of your hips where they go in at the sides and then out again, and no matter what you do you just can't get that hourglass smooth shape. I've spent my whole life hating my hip dips and doing everything to hide them, from Spanx, to baggy clothes, to losing lots of weight! No matter what I do they are still visible, like in this picture! What I have found so encouraging is that through instagram I've seen so many other women like me who've struggled with it! I've always thought it was because I was overweight it's just that my fat sits on my hips to make a muffin top, but it's actually genetic, my bones just jut in at my hips. I've finally come to realise that THIS IS TOTALLY NORMAL! I am never going to have a perfect hourglass figure AND THAT IS OKAY! All I can do is work with what I've been blessed with and love every part of myself. And… what triggered this little speech is that I've seen that my insta pic has been used in a Facebook article on loving your hipdips!
