Check out this “larger than life” colorful Marrakech house, in the image of its “larger than life” owner, fashion personality Countess Marta Marzotto.

Countess Marta Marzotto, born Marta Vacondio has been an haute couture model in Milan, for most of her life. Married to Italian Count Umberto Marzotto in 1954, and mother of former CEO of fashion house Valentino, it is later in her life that the Contessa; also called “Volcanic Muse” because of her sparking and loud nature, has found in Marrakech and its colorfulness a second home that fit her personality.

A reflection of her own personal maximalist fashion styling, Countess Marta Marzotto’s Marrakech house is an over the top piece of art, filled with colorful details, that somehow the Volcanic Muse made work. Located on the outskirts of the city at Bab Doukkala, this Riyad combines antique furniture and traditional artisan esthetic, found in the zellij (tiles), and the intricate work in each door and window, in addition to the majestic furniture.
