“I can confirm that Mark Salling passed away early this morning,” attorney Michael Proctor told the press on Tuesday. He was 35 years old. “Mark was a gentle and loving person, a person of great creativity, who was doing his best to atone for some serious mistakes and errors of judgment.”
According to celebrity news website TMZ, Salling’s body was found hanging from a tree near a riverbank in Sunland, a suburb of Los Angeles.
Salling was accused in May 2016 of receiving and possessing child pornography. His sentence was scheduled for sentencing March 7 and was facing four years to seven years in federal prison, followed by a 20-year period of supervised release and registration as a sex offender as part of a plea agreement.
Mark Salling played the role of Noah “Puck” Puckerman in the hit series on a high school music performance band and was a regular for the first fours seasons. His former co-star Cory Monteith died of an overdose in 2013.
Although he has been charged of horrific crime, his former colleagues still made sure to pay tribute to him.
Today we lost another #Glee cast member.Yes, he committed crimes against children.Yes, it's horrific. But #MarkSalling was a broken man, no doubt an abuse victim himself. I loved Mark, and am sad when I consider the devastation of his parents. PLEASE withhold your cruel comments.

His death is painful for me Some of u might know him for only his flaws but I also knew him as someone who was great to work with & was kind to my kids. I truly wish he’d fought his demons &atoned himself & came out a winner. May we all find solace in some of his gentler memories
