Forbes: Two Moroccans at the top 5 Arab stars on Global stage

Written by FDM

The international magazine Forbes has measured the success of globally-recognized Arab celebrities for the first time. Two Moroccans are among artists who gained universal fame over a short period of time in 2018.

According to Forbes, Karim Kharbouch, better known as French Montana is the best singer in the Arab world. Followed by Egyptian singer Tamer Hosny and Lebanese singer Elissa. Moroccan Abdelhafid Douzi known as Douzi came fourth in the same ranking. An achievement that has gained the latter the title of “king of Moroccan song”, defeating thus his competitor Saad Lamjarad, who was not even on the list this year.

While French Montana’s position should come as no surprise, Douzi has gained international notoriety this year thanks to his hard work. Indeed, he released a song for the World Cup featuring Jason Derulo, became the ambassador of a telecommunication company and won the Egyptian public over with his songs.

Abdelhafid Douzi has been chosen as the best Moroccan artist / singer for the year 2018 twice, once in Morocco after receiving the prize at Moroccan Music Awards, and once at the international level with the German DAF Bama prize.
